January 2020 update

Winter, time for reading fun and chocolate!

Let’s see, it’s cold out, holidays are over, snowbirds have flown to Florida, it’s time for The Winter Reading Program! Sign-up begins January 21. We are shaking things up a bit this year with weekly prize drawings! Grown ups, you love to read, it’s snowy outside, so earn some goodies for passing the cold days with some warm reading, or scary reading, or romantic reading, any reading!

Chocolate Tasting is February 20th at 7pm. Patrick Fields PhD will take us on a journey through the world of chocolate tasting. This event is for ages 18 and older. Register for this event at the library before February 10th, seating is limited.

Follow us on Facebook for more fun details about Winter Reading and events.

Storytime for preschoolers resumes, along with crafts for homeschoolers on January 28th at 10:30 with a Groundhog Day theme. A full schedule of dates and themes is available in the library.

Chess club continues Wednesdays 3pm. Chess club is for all ages and all skill levels are welcome.

The Ravel Rousers group meets Friday mornings at 10 am. Bring your knitting, crocheting or any other project to the library, and enjoy company and conversation while you create.

Book discussion group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm. No registration required. Stop into the library for a list of titles and dates, and to request copies of discussion titles.

Next time you visit, take a moment to look at a display for Dimondale Home Culture Club. They are a longtime local organization with a history of improving our community. Their projects include the annual tree lighting, and welcome to Dimondale signs. Currently they are raising funds for a gazebo in Danford Island Park. Donations to the club can be made at the library.
