Library Changes in 2022

Due to budget constraints, the library will be making some changes.

Due to budget constraints, the Dorothy Hull Library is forced to make the following changes in its hours, services and programming for 2022:

Library hours will be reduced from 44 hours to 32 hours per week. The library will be closed Saturday through Monday; open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Staffing will be reduced, and retiring or departing employees will not be replaced.

The library's book and materials budget will be reduced by 35%.

The following programs and services will be eliminated for 2022:

  • Preschool storytime
  • Locked room events for teens
  • Adult Winter Reading Program

The following programs and services will continue in 2022, but may be reduced or restructured to reduce stafaf time involved:

  • Home delivery
  • Adult Book Discussion
  • Chess Club
  • Knitting Club
  • Summer Reading Program for kids
  • MeL borrowing
  • Loan of wifi hotspots for internet access
